How to Love the St. Louis Cardinals

I absolutely love the St. Louis Cardinals, and one of my favorite things to do is talk with people about them. However, there are not too many people who share the same level of passion that I do. Therefore, I would like to give you some tips on how you too can become an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

First, just watch a Cardinals game. If you have never watched a baseball game, more specifically, a Cardinals game, I suggest that you start your journey to fandom by watching a game. Watch it on the channel that broadcasts the Cardinals games, Bally Sports Midwest, and listen to one of the most passionate men in baseball, Dan McLaughlin, as he commentates the Cardinals game. Listen closely to how excited Dan gets whenever a big play is made. You can just hear his love for Cardinals baseball. This will hopefully excite you. If it does, you should continue to watch the games and begin to learn who the players are and begin to build a connection with the 26 men who represent the best team in baseball.

Once you actually know who the players are, find a couple of favorites, and become emotionally invested in these guys. This will make it so that every time one of these players is up to bat, you will be hyper-focused on the game, and learn to enjoy it more. You will become more excited when these guys do something good, upset when they do bad and extra frustrated when you feel that they have been wronged.

After you begin to learn more and more about the Cardinals and have some favorite players, head to Busch Stadium. Sit in the sea of people that is called "Cardinals Nation" and feed off the energy of those who surround you. Hopefully, the game will be a good one and make for a great experience. If so, continue to go to the games, and continue to become invested in Cardinals baseball. Do this by reading various blogs, like this one, and joining online communities that are filled with Cardinals fans. With this, you will be able to see how passionate this fanbase truly is, and maybe, just maybe, you too will share this passion.

And if all of this works out, I hope to see you rocking some Cardinals gear at Busch Stadium the next time that I am there.
