    Hello everyone, I am Matthew Inman, and this is my blog dedicated to the St. Louis Cardinals which I will be updating frequently throughout the next few months. I will be posting about Cardinals-related topics that are not always talked about by the larger media outlets. I will make these posts by using the knowledge I have from watching every Cardinals game, whether it be live or a recording, and constantly keeping up with what is going on with the team using social media. I will give authentic reactions and be very passionate about the things I have to say. I am hoping that all of the readers of this blog can also join in on the action, and let me hear their questions, thoughts, and opinions on the great sport and/or team. 

     Here is a little more information about myself that will hopefully give you some insight as to why I have decided to create this blog: 

    I was born into a "Cardinals Family" as my parents and grandparents also root for the Cardinals. With that being said, I have been keeping up with Cardinals baseball since I was able to actually understand what was going on, roughly in 2005. As I have gotten older and my love for the game has grown, I have found myself watching every Cardinals game. Those games that I cannot watch live because of school or work, I record and watch later. I know every player on the team, and I know all of their strengths and weaknesses, and how they are doing when it comes to their performance. Some may say I am a bit too passionate about the team, but I don't think that is possible. I have cried tears of sadness, frustration, and joy while watching the games, and I do not plan on stopping anytime soon. I hope to continue to share my excitement with others, and potentially influence them to be excited as well.

Will There Be 700?

    St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols is arguably one of the greatest right-handed hitters of all time. He has a resume that is packed full of accolades and will certainly be finding himself in the Hall of Fame when it is all said and done. However, there is some unfinished business that he hopes to take care of before this happens. This involves Pujols hoping to become the 4th person in Major League Baseball history to hit 700 home runs. As of September 9th, 2022, he is only 5 away from doing so, but with just 23 games left in the Cardinals season, will he be able to reach 700?        In the last couple of months, Pujols has been one of the better hitters in all of baseball. Ranting About a Redbird

     The title of this post has a double meaning, as I will be looking at Paul DeJong. DeJong is currently playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, and just so happens to be an Illinois State University Alumni. Which would make him two times the Redbird. Unfortunately, I am not happy that Paul DeJong represents either, as he is one of the St. Louis Cardinals' biggest disappointments, and hopefully, you will understand this after reading the information below.       In 2019, Paul DeJong was an All-Star. Although his stats weren't too impressive from the season when it came to batting average and on-base percentage, he did hit 30 home runs, which was good enough to get him this recognition. However, since this 2019 season, he has been almost unplayable.
